Leadership evolution supports E&C’s global ambitions to scale as an AI-first, data-led company
E&C today announced that Jens Lievens has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Founder Benedict De Meulemeester will transition to Chairman of the Board, focusing on governance, long-term vision and thought leadership.

The transition comes at a pivotal moment for E&C, a global energy data and services company assisting some of the world's biggest companies in 108 countries and managing over 17 billion EUR in energy spend with a team of 125 employees.
“As we considered the future of E&C, it became clear that this is the right next step,” said Benedict De Meulemeester, Founder and Chairman. “Jens will lead the company day to day – building on our strategy, partnering with the management team, representing E&C inside and out, protecting our culture and driving growth. In my role as Chairman and majority shareholder, I will continue to contribute my energy market vision and product guidance. I will also remain active as an energy market expert through writing and thought leadership and I will support Jens and the Board. I am confident Jens is the right leader to carry E&C’s unique spirit forward.”
Lievens, who has been with E&C for a decade, steps into the CEO role with a clear plan to accelerate the company’s transformation from a global consultancy supported by data to a data company complemented by deep consultancy expertise, anchored by E&C’s proprietary ePoint by E&C® platform.
“It’s an honour to lead E&C with Benedict’s support,” said Jens Lievens, CEO. “Our mission — smarter energy for a better world — guides everything we do. We will be AI-first wherever it makes sense, automating what can be automated so our experts focus on the highest value work for clients. My near-term priorities are clear: keep delivering excellent financial results, scale by connecting and calculating diverse energy data into ePoint’s data model, and delight customers in how we deliver outcomes.
“This transition formalizes the way we’ve been operating and positions E&C for its next phase", Lievens added. “We’ll stay humble about the work ahead, speak plainly and move fast. The best ideas win here — our culture depends on honest feedback and ownership. We’re committed to delivering exceptional results for clients while building a stronger, more scalable E&C.”.
